Table clock of sculptural value. The work starts with four legs in the shape of a feline claw that gives way to a malachite base that stands out for its expressiveness and for the chromatic contrast that it generates with the golden bronze. In the upper area is the watch case with black dial and golden hands and numerals. The case itself serves as a support for a female figure representing Venus, accompanied by a small cupid that rests its back on the clock case.

Nineteenth century bronze table clocks were key pieces in decoration and interior design, as well as symbols of social status and refinement. Elaborately crafted and often adorned with artistic motifs, these clocks not only served to measure time, but also reflected the technical advances and taste for fine craftsmanship of the time. Bronze, a durable and aesthetically appreciated material, allowed the creation of complex and elegant forms, integrating styles such as neoclassical or rococo, which made them highly valued objects in the residences of high society.
