Austrian table clock, with alabaster structure, mahogany wood and ebonized wood following an architectural scheme, and gilded bronze decorations applied in the area of the pendulum and the dial. The piece is structured as a classical style façade, inspired by the renaissance both for its structured plan and for the austerity of the decorative elements, subordinated to the structural lines, without hiding the lines that define the piece. The façade is composed of a base composed of a single step, raised on feet in the form of an embellished bronze ball. The facade has two columns, already mentioned, which end in an entablature that is divided by the presence of the Arabic numeral dial.
Nineteenth century table clocks were key pieces in the decoration and interior design, as well as symbols of social status and refinement. Elaborately crafted and often adorned with artistic motifs, these clocks not only served to measure time, but also reflected the technical advances and taste for fine craftsmanship of the time.
