In this impressionist landscape Robert Easton Stuart represents a herd that grazes in an extensive field only interrupted by a dirt road. It emphasizes the bright palette of spring tones with white and amber flashes that dominates the landscape, in contrast with the cloudy sky and the blue mountains silhouetted against the horizon.
