DESCRIPTION

RAMÓN BIGAS I BALCELLS (Barcelona, 1941) for Tramo.
Accordion lamp XXL.
Lacquered in green, brushed aluminum and large opal globe.
All the pieces are original.
Measurements: 120 cm (extended); 70 cm (folded); 20 cm (globe).

This lamp has a green lacquered folding and extensible accordion structure. At its end there is a large bulb with a Space Age type opaline globe.

Ramón Bigas i Balcells founded together with Oleguer Armengol the Estudio 22. In 1983 he founded, together with Pep Sant, the company AD Associate Designers, where he worked until its dissolution in 1995. Throughout his career he has carried out more than 3,000 industrial design projects, among which we can highlight the High Speed Train (AVE), the 446 commuter train for RENFE, the Micro lamp (1986) or the Olympic cauldron for the Barcelona '92 Games. He has also worked on interior design projects (Barcelona Maritime Museum) and graphic design (Port Aventura identity project). Throughout his extensive career he has received numerous awards, such as the Delta de Oro for the Barcelona chair, the European Itscar for lighting, the First Prize of the Arango Foundation or the Accent of Design.
