Drawer, José Simont was formed in the School of the Fish market of Barcelona with Ramón Martí Alsina, and travels to Paris at the age of twenty-two years. There he collaborated with publications such as "La Croix", "Le monde illustré", "La femme et le monde" and, above all, "La Illustration" (between 1901 and 1921 and 1932 and 1945). For his support of the Allied cause in World War I, he was awarded the Legion of Honor. He also participated with illustrations in other European magazines such as "Illustrated London news" and "Berliner Illustrierte Zeitung". He always lived in Paris, except for the period he spent working in New York, between 1921 and 1932. He returned to Barcelona in 1947 and exhibited at the Syra galleries in 1951 and again in 1958.
