JAVIER CALVO (Valencia, 1941).Untitled, 1987.Silkscreen on paper, copy 85/99.Signed, dated and justified by hand.Size: 60 x 80 cm.In 1959 he began his higher studies at the San Carlos School of Fine Arts in Valencia, in 1967 he specialised in painting at the National School of Fine Arts in Paris. His career is closely linked to the development of the arts in Valencia, where he is a key figure in the training of artists and designers. His irrepressible passion for fashion is symptomatic of a broad concept of the creative spirit. But it is as a painter that Calvo expresses his meditated vision of painting, which tends towards the essentiality of shapes and colours. Following the motto "less is more", Javier Calvo manages to influence our gaze and our feelings through his figures or landscapes that update the sense of the abstract. At the moment he teaches Plastic Arts and Design (fashion) at the Escuela de Artes y Superior de Diseño de Valencia.
