Measurements: 12,5 cm (diameter).
This disk with central hole has been entirely made of shell. Examples like the one we now present were also used as currency.
The history of Lopburi dates back to the Dvaravati period, more than 1000 years ago. According to inscriptions, Lopburi was incorporated into the administrative structure of the Khmer Empire during the reign of Suryavarman I. Control of Lopburi allowed the Khmer Empire access to trade across the Isthmus of Kra.
