Protective figure of the guardian Aso, one of the most important symbols of the Dayak culture. It is a mythological beast composed of dog and dragon. It acts as a protective figure that protects the Dayak from evil spirits.
The Dayaks are a group of proto-Malayans living in the interior of Borneo. Their statuary is mainly dedicated to the protection and commemoration of an important ancestor, a warrior or a powerful guardian spirit.
