Milk jug. Hima/Bahima, Uganda, early 20th century.

Measurements: 26 cm (height) x 19.5 cm.

This type of jug used to be accompanied by a small ceramic brazier on which the container was placed with the opening facing downwards. The treatment of the interior allowed the milk to be preserved for a longer period of time. The upper part is closed with a cap made of woven textile fibers that reproduce geometric patterns in color. At mid-height, a frieze formed by 4 geometric lines.
