Frame of the XIX century (with faults).
Measurements: 23 x 18,5 cm.
Devotional painting of late-baroque period representing Santiago de la Marca occupying great part of the frame. We recognize the Italian saint of the XV century by the humble habit with brown cloak of Franciscan friar and the tonsured head. Also the bare feet are a sign of humility, characteristic of the Franciscans. The character looks at the sky with an enraptured countenance carrying out a silent dialogue with God. He carries a large cross in his right hand, an attribute that, together with the landscape in which he is located, indicates his arduous work as an itinerant preacher. St. James of the Mark (1391-1476) was a disciple of St. Bernardine of Siena. He preached intensely in Italy and Eastern Europe, combating heresies and promoting religious reforms.
