Self-taught painter, José Manuel Pajares is initiated in the technique of oil painting through his first exhibition, held in the nineties in his hometown. He is then introduced to large format painting, for its impact, with the use of acrylics, collages and oils, seeking perfection and transmitting at all times to the viewer the sincerity that emerges from his works with exhibitions held throughout Catalonia. In 2000 he has the opportunity to broaden his horizons with his exhibition at the Agora Gallery in Soho, New York, where he presents an exhibition of works starring pieces of urban reality. Through these fragments Pajares has found his personal form of expression, and in his hands this excellent vector of communication becomes "street art" inspired by the streets of New York. Four years later, in 2004, he held a joint exhibition with Alicia de la Torre again in the Big Apple, entitled "Urban Myths". Through this exhibition Pajares comes into contact with Frank Jackson and his "Art for Progress", a collective of artists of which he is currently a member, participating in their permanent exhibitions. From 2006 onwards he will exhibit in France, the first of these exhibitions being the one held at the Thierry Veaux Gallery in Isle sur la Sorgue. In the neighboring country he is received with great enthusiasm, and adds to a future of participation in international contemporary art fairs such as Nimes, Grenoble, Strasbourg and others. Today Pajares remains faithful to his passion, creating works in his studio for all the galleries that have opted for his work, and participating in art fairs around the world, in countries such as the United Kingdom, Belgium, Canada, Italy, Singapore and the United States.
