The Berlin model was the first release of the series along with the Stockholm model. The design of the Berlin model consists of a green marbled pattern on the body and cap, with the knob and piston section made of black resin. The gold finish completes the look of the pen. The body and cap material is translucent, allowing the remaining ink in the pen to be viewed.
The historic German brand Pelikan has more than 179 years of tradition in creating writing instruments of the highest standard.
The special edition M620 models were produced between 2001 and 2006, with two new models released each year. All of these pens are now discontinued and it is not known exactly how many units of each model were produced. The series was intended to pay homage to various cities, and at the end of production, to locations around the world. The M620 pens retain the characteristic embellishments of the Souverän series, such as the cap cap cap with crown, double trim rings on the piston knob, a decorative ring on the section, and cap bands engraved with the inscription "Pelikan Souverän Germany". The first seven pens in the series (2001-2004) have a two-chick logo on the top of the cap, while the last five (2004-2006) feature a single-chick logo. The plating on the pens is gold on seven models and palladium on five, depending on the aesthetic design of each. The pens in this series include a two-tone gold nib (18C-750), an improvement over the standard 14C-585 nib. Many of the pen bodies have a translucent finish, allowing the level of ink remaining to be seen, although they do not have a discreet window to observe the ink.
