This copper depicts Saint Cecilia lying on the ground. The legend tells that first they tried to kill Cecilia in the thermal baths of her own house, trying to drown her with the steam without succeeding and then. As she survived, she was boiled alive. But that didn't work either. Finally, an executioner was called in to cut off her head. According to the story, he dropped his axe on her three times without succeeding, so he fled in terror, abandoning the young woman, bloodied but alive, although she was left battered and finally died three days later.
