After HENRI GODET (Paris, 1863 - Vincennes, 1927).
"Nymph with flower", late 19th century.
Table lamp.
Patinated bronze.
With signature "Henri Godet".
Electrified.
Measurements: 32 cm x 23 cm x 20 cm.
Sculptural lamp with the representation of a graceful nymph that flexes its torso to play with an enormous flower of great corolla, that makes the times of tulip of light. It is a piece clearly ascribed to the Art Nouveau style. It follows models of Henri Godet.
Henri Godet was a sculptor and engraver of medals. He was known for his numerous busts of women decorated with flowers. He made many sculptures in bronze, but very few in marble. Godet exhibited regularly at the Salons from 1883 until his death. The Musée d'Orsay acquired Mr. Godet's earthenware sketches. This very specialized artist published his works himself.
