The Alessi MG09 tray is a classic designed for the firm by Michael Graves, with an oval structure in polished polished steel, with matte black plastic handles.
Michael Graves, a prominent American designer and architect, studied architecture at Princeton in 1962. His architectural works include the Portland Building and the Humana Building, the expansion of the Whitney Museum of American Art, and the Newark Museum.
In addition to being a principal of Michael Graves and Associates and Michael Graves Design Group, he was a member of The New York Five and the Memphis Group and a professor of architecture at Princeton University for nearly forty years. He is recognized as a major influence on architectural movements such as New Urbanism, New Classical Architecture and, above all, Postmodernism, and was one of the most prominent and prolific American architects of the late twentieth century.
As a designer, he gained notable popularity with his famous designs of utensils for Alessi, such as the famous 9093 teapot or the Pitcher water pitcher.
