Maria Teresa Vives takes us in this composition to the interior of a room in which a series of frenetic events have taken place, possibly as a result of a day at an Andalusian fair, judging by the elements that can be seen. A bright yellow shawl embroidered with flowers rests on a chair, while red carnations and a tasselled cushion lie on the floor. The floral drapery in the background, the marbled console table and the delicately upholstered chair are all indicative of the bourgeois interior in which we find ourselves.
