Table clock from the Empire period, made of mercury gilded bronze. Dedicated to Beauty and Love, its architectural structure inspired by a gazebo or pavilion houses an effigy of Eros or Cupid in round bulk.
The columns are shaped like vegetal growths in the form of papyrus, with foliated sheaths worked at different levels. Amorcillos musicians (playing the lute and trumpets) frolic in a field that outlines the entablature, decorated with fretwork of palmettes. Attached is a pendulum depicting a scene of Venus and Cupid. The dial is made of porcelain and bears Roman numerals. The border is decorated with different animals, inspired by a zodiac wheel.
