Parker designed the model 180 in 1977. Its nib was specifically designed to be very rigid and tolerant to the application of a lot of pressure by a regular pen user. This stiffness is achieved by placing a stiffening bar over the nib. This bar complements the firm grip that the feeder gives the nib from below, and gives it a particular ability to withstand pressure on the paper. As a consequence of this particular design, the nib of a Parker 180 is a flat triangle atypical of fountain pens. This feature, coupled with its slender and refined body, made the Parker 180 an unusual sales success. Its name comes from "180 degrees", because its nib can be used conventionally or inverted half-turned (at 180 degrees) with a thicker point.
The Parker Sonnet fountain pen features a stainless steel cap with brushed metal effect, a body of the same material, a black resin grip section and various palladium-plated metal trims. Stainless steel nib. Cartridge or converter loading system. Snap cap closure. Part of the Sonnet collection launched in 2017, characterized by robustness and elegance.
