Classic Pens Limited is one of the many fountain pen companies that emerged in the last 25 years, founded by collectors with the aim of selling or producing fountain pens. It was created in 1987 by Andreas Lambrou and Keith G. Brown, and has gained wide recognition in the fountain pen enthusiast community for developing a series of limited edition models with sterling silver guilloche engravings, inspired by classic designs from prominent high-end manufacturers.

This fountain pen is the second limited edition Classic Pen (CP) and belongs to the CP2 series.

It was a collaboration between Classic Pens, Sheaffer and the Pushkin Awards, a literary awards program for children in Ireland chaired by the Duchess of Abercorn, a descendant of Aleksandr Pushkin, the founding father of modern Russian literature. The CP2 series was launched in 1993 and consisted of a limited edition of 500 pens.
