Krone has acquired a small and exclusive lot of these fascinating keys, whose provenance is impeccable. They were originally acquired by noted lock and key collector Paul Harter of Mansfield, Ohio, who purchased them shortly before the end of World War II from a close relative of Houdini. Subsequently, the keys passed into the hands of a well-known collector and dealer who resides in a small Texas town. Krone has confirmed the magical link to Houdini and has verified the authenticity of the key through a renowned, internationally recognized relic dealer based in Connecticut.
Since so few of these items exist and many wish to own a "magic key," some of the keys have been reduced to "magic dust," which has been incorporated into the 925 sterling silver clip on each of the limited edition pens.
Krone is an American brand that brings luxury writing instruments, products that evoke discussion and even controversy. With this approach, Krone has captured the attention of pen collectors around the world and has expanded the market to those who not only appreciate the aesthetics, but have an emotional attachment to the history that Krone brings them closer to.
Thanks to Krone, writing instrument collections are no longer exclusively for pen collectors, they go beyond that.
