Coffee set consisting of a teapot, coffee pot, milk jug, sugar bowl, samovar and tray. The pieces that make up the set stand out for a wide profusion of embossed and chiseled ornamental details.
It presents hallmarks of Madrid Villa y Corte and the silversmith Juan Sellán (1840-1886), active in Madrid in the 19th century. He was trained at the Royal Silversmith Factory, where he entered in 1821 and passed the master's exam in 1831. However, he did not apply to join the silversmiths' guild until several years later, in 1842. His career was long and fruitful, so that today he is known for numerous pieces, both civil and religious silverware, although his secular works are more abundant. Works by his hand are currently preserved in the Municipal Museum of Madrid, the church of San Sebastián in the same city, the church of Santa María del Castillo in Perales de Tajuña, the church of San Salvador in Leganés and the parish of San Pedro de Sigüenza.
