A historic firm within the Catalan silverware industry, Bagués was created in 1917 and remained active independently until its merger with Masriera i Carreras in 1985. Bagués was especially known for the production of contemporary jewelry characterized by the elegance of its designs and the prominence of colors, which reflect the Mediterranean inspiration of the firm and its deep ties to Barcelona.
