Max van Alphen (known under the artistic name Custom de Biest), was born in 1975 in Tilburg. He started painting with charcoal, chalk and oil paint in 2000. Over time, he turned to graffiti and airbrush art. In recent years he has also delved into pop-rooted photographic art, using acrylic paint, professional sprays, paint rollers, molds and stencils. He mastered most of these techniques in a self-taught way. He also applies modern fine art photography techniques with rich color palettes to create images in which he fuses glamorous and everyday environments.
