Ima Picó is a visual artist from Valencia. Her specialty are murals and large-scale in-situ installations composed with paint and industrial format adhesive vinyls. Her recent work explores media saturation in contemporary culture and the consequent devaluation of the information that is attempted to be transmitted. This devaluation of information can be seen in our streets and cities, places constantly invaded by texts and designs that do not communicate any essential information and are often confusing. Her work incorporates these signs, exaggerating and reconfiguring them with the purpose of constructing images that express a sense of collapse. The result is chaotic representations, textures and forms that use imagery borrowed from the language of visual culture and the street. Ima Picó has exhibited in galleries, museums and public spaces in Europe, Asia and America.
