With an early vocation for art, he began his training at the Pablo Picasso School of Arts in his hometown, in 1986, and six years later graduated in the specialty of volume techniques. On that same date he held his first exhibition in that center and continued in other cities of Galicia, until he moved to Barcelona, where he soon managed to get his work to be set and projected, after exhibiting in the Sala de Arte Joven de la Generalitat de Catalunya and in La Caixa, in the city of Barcelona. He participates in the VI edition of the prestigious Mostra de Unión Fenosa in 1999. He wins a prize in the selection called Twenty-five young artists of Catalonia and is a finalist in the Kronenbour prize in Barcelona. Lately, his painting has been exhibited in Italy. Jano Muñoz's painting is conceptual, reflective, from an intense reasoning on geometric structures. His landscape painting is immersed in hyperrealism, whose maximum Spanish figure is Antonio López García, although the Galician is more sober in color and gives the volumes an intensity of polyhedrons in space, which add mystery to his chromatic results, in grays and ochers, deliberately falsifying the perspective. It can also be an exercise of secant strokes and lines, as a constructive structure, of great simplicity and beauty. VI Mostra Unión Fenosa, A Coruña, 1999.
