Ramon Nadal trained with Llorenç Cerdà and Francesc Rosselló at the School of Arts and Crafts in Palma de Mallorca, and was introduced to the world of art thanks to his father. When he was only thirteen years old he held his first exhibition, which took place in the gallery La Veda in Palma. In 1940 he participated in the foundation of the Círculo de Bellas Artes de Palma, where he later exhibited his works on several occasions. He worked mainly in oil painting, and his work covers practically all genres (figure, still life, portrait, etc.), although he is especially known for his landscapes. He belongs to the Majorcan post-impressionist movement, and stands out for the consistency of his drawing. Throughout his career his work was recognized on several occasions, especially highlighting the Medal of Honor of the Circle of Fine Arts of Palma in 1952 and the City of Palma Award the following year. Likewise, since 1964 he was a member of the Royal Academy of Sant Sebastià. In his studio he trained some outstanding young artists such as Alicia Alcover, Miguel Llabrés, Antoni Alzamora, Juan Segura, Josep Manresa Clar or his nephew, Francisco Gaita. Currently there is a street in Palma de Mallorca that bears his name, and his works are part of several collections, including the Can Prunera Museum in Sóller (Mallorca).
