Xaquín Chaves made his first appearance in the art world in 1987, participating in various group exhibitions in Vilagarcía de Arousa, his hometown. Since then, his presence in Galician exhibitions has been constant, from Novos Valores, or the Biennial of Pontevedra, to selective competitions of Unión Fenosa. His first individual exhibition was held in Marín. In his pictorial style it is possible to appreciate certain formal references, which evolved towards a totally abstract and informalist language. Based on a color palette of expressive and bright character. All gammas are possible in his palette, from pinks and ochres, to green and blue, with yellow and white. Through insinuated geometries, guessed shapes that invite reflection.
