DESCRIPTION
CATI LANZA (Ferrol, 1963).
"Tides".
Oil on canvas.
Signed in the lower right corner.
Measurements: 150 x 150 cm.
Oil on canvas of realistic aesthetics in which the author recreates a beach, specifically the shore. In it you can appreciate a game of transparencies and reflections that the author achieves with the use of tones, which capture the movement of receding waves breaking against the sand. She uses a range of cold colors that she combines with some warm ones to create a contrasting and vaporous atmosphere.
Cati Lanza began her academic training with a degree in Fine Arts at the University of Valencia. Where she specialized in painting. Later she did a Doctorate dedicated to photography at the Complutense University of Madrid. Since 1983 he began his exhibition career, reaching a large number of exhibitions both individually and collectively. Among his solo exhibitions include his first exhibition in Pos-Post Gallery. Valencia, 1986, in the exhibition hall of the City Council of Beniganím Valencia, 1986, the exhibition "Do not tell anyone" Madrid 1990, the sample in the art gallery Be Truth. Ferrol, 2007, Roberto Resino Art Gallery, Madrid, 2008, Star Art Gallery. Madrid, October 2014, Sa Font 7. Menorca, among others. His painting is characterized by an aesthetic of realistic character where you can appreciate a great influence of photography, although not from a cold and objective approach but transferring an atmosphere of reverie to the painting. In fact, he has declared in El Correo Gallego "painting for me is a necessity, a means of expression, a way to disconnect and even a form of meditation. When I paint, I lose track of time and if days go by without me doing it, I have a bad time".
