PACO MINUESA (Beas de Segura, Jaén, 1955).
"Mercat".
Oil on canvas glued to board.
Signed in the lower right corner.
Measurements: 54 x 81cm; 58 x 85cm (frame).
Painter and illustrator, he graduated in Applied Arts at the Llotja School in Barcelona. He alternates creation with teaching at the Art School of Sant Cugat del Vallès. He worked as an illustrator for 15 years for the newspaper El País. An Andalusian artist based in Catalonia, Maria Lluisa Borràs called him "the great master of satire". He shows us the beauty of everyday life through his "museum" and street characters. People walking, reading or sunbathing on a terrace, between being seen and being seen. His Meninas, Giovannas and Giocondas are famous, integrated to his particular pictorial universe. Minuesa offers a very personal vision of urban society while pouring large doses of humor.
