The painter and sculptor Jesús Díaz "Machaco" began his artistic career in the late seventies. His first individual exhibition was in 1978 at the Casino Nueva Concordia in his homeland, Coria. During the following years, he took his creations to other parts of the region, such as Cáceres, Plasencia or Mérida, and to many other places in Spain, such as Salamanca, Valladolid or León. In 1991 his work could be seen in the Sala Alfama in Madrid, and since 1997 there is a permanent exhibition of the artist in the Casa de los Caracoles, in Coria. Portugal and France have also hosted exhibitions of the author. At the same time, from 1999 to date he has made a total of 11 public sculptures that are exhibited in places such as Coria, Salamanca, Les Herbiers (France) and Castelo Branco (Portugal).
