It has flaws in the paint and signs of old xylophages. Needs restoration.
Measurements: 20 x 22 cm; 33 x 35 cm (frame).
Gravina was born in Italy and studied at the Art Institute of Milan. Throughout his career he has exhibited throughout Italy, as well as in England and Germany. The one we are concerned with here is a scene inspired by a Parisian salon of the late 19th century. The bourgeois costumes and the palatial setting give a glimpse of the high lineage of those depicted.
