A painter specializing in landscape painting, José Pellicer Plà discovered his vocation in the studio of José Segrelles. Although he had intended to study Fine Arts, the reality of the post-war period forced him to give up this idea to work at the Bank of Valencia. However, in those same years he began to paint landscapes regularly, and attended drawing classes with Agustín Abalat, Manolo Gil and Mompó. Finally in the seventies he enrolled in the Academy of Fine Arts of San Carlos de Valencia. His commercial career then took off, and he began to hold exhibitions of his work in Valencia, Madrid and the Basque Country. From these dates he will obtain several awards, as well as recognitions such as the anthological exhibition dedicated to him by the City Council of Algemesí in 2014.
