A painter of precocious talent, Francisco Mir Belenguer was trained at the School of Arts and Crafts in Burjassot (Valencia), between 1946 and 1952, although the economic difficulties his family was going through prevented him from continuing his academic training, so he considers himself to be mainly a self-taught artist. He made his debut in 1958 at the Círculo de Bellas Artes in Valencia, and after several years searching for his own plastic language he finally found it, in the mid-seventies, in realism. Since then he has won several awards in regional and national competitions. Better known as Mirbelenguer, he has held exhibitions of his work throughout Spain, as well as participating in important fairs, and is currently represented in numerous private collections.
