DESCRIPTION
FRANCESC GUINART CANDELICH (Sant Celoni, Barcelona, 1888 - 1974).

Measurements: 65 x 82 cm; 79 x 95 cm (frame).
Trained at the School of Fine Arts of La Lonja in Barcelona, Guinart showed his works in the Salons of Lisbon, Amsterdam and Groningen (Holland), in the Salons of Autumn of Madrid and Paris, and in the Triennial of Venice. It is also worth mentioning the tribute exhibition dedicated to him in his hometown. Among his awards were the Diploma of Honor at the International Exhibition in Barcelona in 1929 and the Laureate Medal at the National Exhibition in Madrid in 1932. He participated assiduously in the Spring Exhibitions of Barcelona, where he was awarded prizes in 1933 and 1935 and, in 1936, he received a scholarship for a trip to America. Based in Argentina until 1948, Guinart spread his Catalan-themed works throughout South America. Francesc Guinart is represented in the National Museums of Madrid, Barcelona, Bilbao and Granollers, as well as in the Rosa Galisteo de Rodríguez in Santa Fe, Argentina, and the Museum of Fine Arts in Rio de Janeiro.
