Claudio Diaz began his training at the School of Arts and Crafts of Seville in 1956 and later at the School of Fine Arts. In 1962 he became a member of Estampa Popular and five years later he held his first individual exhibition at the Pasarela Gallery in Seville. After leaving Estampa Popular he began to form part of the artistic circle like Tornes, Rueda or Zóbel and in 1970 thanks to this he exhibited in the Sala Honda of Cuenca and a year later he took part in the Biennial of Art of Paris and in 1972 he was selected by Juana de Aizpuro in the exhibition of "Nine paintings". In 1974, he received a scholarship from the Juan March Foundation.
