Founding member of the magazine "Figura", Rafael Agredano is one of the key artists of the Spanish panorama of the end of the XX century. Throughout his career he has held solo exhibitions in Spain, France and Holland, in prominent galleries such as Juana de Aizpuru, and has also participated in group exhibitions in other European countries. He is represented in the Andalusian Center of Contemporary Art, La Caixa Foundation, the City Councils of Seville, Almagro and Carmona, the Marugame Hirai Museum of Japan, the Provincial Councils of Seville and Cordoba, the Museum of Fine Arts of Alava and the collection of the Community of Madrid. Esther Regueira, curator of the solo exhibition "Prologue" at the Andalusian Center of Contemporary Art (2012), pointed out that Agredano "intends to make a narrative about memory," and underlined the dominant elements of Agredano's poetics: "the fascination for rituals, the use of myths, an easy wandering between high culture and popular culture. The concept of art as an element of enjoyment. Art is for Agredano a way of knowledge but also of amusement," explained Regueira.
