Self-taught artist known as "the painter of flowers", Maria Cagiao also cultivated landscape, still life or portrait, but almost always her favorite motifs were flowers. The light in her paintings is clear, diaphanous and full of reflections and transparencies. Many of his works are worthy of the Venetian School, in which light and color acquired an enormous perfection. He exhibited in Galicia, Asturias, Oporto, Madrid, León, Salamanca, Málaga and permanently at the Gran Hotel de La Toja, until his death in 1971.
