Héctor Ramírez was formed in the School of Fine Arts of Guayaquil and in the workshops of Theo Constante and Hugo Lara. He began to make himself known in 1971, participating in numerous collective exhibitions in Guayaquil, including the October Salon, where he was awarded the First Prize for Young Artists. In 1974 he broadened his horizons and took part in exhibitions in Cali and Bogota (Colombia), including the one organized by the National Corporation of Plastic Arts. His first individual exhibition will take place in 1988 in his hometown, and only two years later he holds a personal exhibition at the Nahim Isaías Museum in the same city.
