BID HISTORY

DESCRIPTION

AINGERU PAGAI (Lutxana, Bizkaia, 1957).
"Morphic state". 1980.
Watercolor on paper.
Certificate of authenticity attached.
Measurements: 31'5×20 cm.
Painter, sculptor and graphic artist. Resident in Getxo, where he owns, together with the artist Amaia Estornés a studio-exhibition (Gidegiltz). He began painting and engraving at a very young age. Between 1976-1980 he studied Fine Arts at the Fine Arts Faculty of the UPV-EHU (Bilbao). His predominant themes are abstract creations and compositions, figurative ideation, the transmission of ethical messages, the human being, nature, civilization. Predominant techniques: oil, acrylic, tempera, watercolor and mixed media, engraving, research and drawing. He is a member of ACEA'S-ACEA, International Federation of Artists since 2000. In 2004 he is distinguished by the Ordine Academico Internazionale "Greci-Marino", of Vinzaglio, Italy, with the title of Caballero Oficiale Academico, in recognition of his professional work. Aingeru Pagai investigates with styles apparently not so concordant: the classical pictorial representation, with the cubist forms, and with formulas that drink from surrealism and pop art. In all these formulas he plays with the color, being more elevated when he works following the guidelines of the most landscape cubist current, without making too many geometric games. At a time when painting is losing its presence in the exhibitions of young artists, those who dedicate themselves to this noble art (surely the oldest of the fine arts), it is good that they know as many techniques as possible, so that once they have decided on the style for which they are most gifted, they can follow it to its ultimate consequences. Art must be felt, and regardless of whether a painter can devote himself only to painting, or has to combine his time with other activities, he must believe in what he is doing, otherwise others will notice it. Given the variety within the styles mentioned, it is clear that Aingeru loves art because he is involved with not so common points of view. And I hope that his future as an artist is marked by him, and not by the fashionable trends, whatever they may be.
