Painter and sculptor, but also writer, musician and magician, Salvador Aulestia cultivated a plastic expressionism with a certain tendency to abstraction. He exhibited at the I Salón de Octubre, held in 1948, and since then he participated in several group exhibitions, both nationally and abroad. After beginning in a style close to abstraction, during the early fifties he opted for a language linked to Fauvism, characterized by color. Later his work evolves towards expressionism, although towards 1960 he again considers abandoning figuration, working with works of a material nature. However, he soon abandons informalism and returns to express himself through figuration. Among his works stand out the "Sideroploide" of the port of Barcelona (1960-63) and the series of sculptures-furniture (1965).
