Painter alien to trends, he remains faithful to his attachment to the avant-garde movements of the early twentieth century. Above all, he revisits Fauvism and Expressionism, giving them a personal, highly subjective vision, as shown in this view of his village at sunset. The cobalt sky gives an almost electric light to the facades. All the colors compete with each other, composing an intense symphony. The solitary street conveys the author's state of mind. His painting transmits an impact of unusual sensations in our time. He does almost all of his painting en plein air like the symbolist painters of yesteryear. Restless, nonconformist and committed to ecology. Nature is the main theme of his work, especially plants and trees, although he deals with urban themes as well as seascapes and rural landscapes. Jordi Santacana shows a surprising sharpness in the use of color, reminiscent of the paintings of Vincent Van Gogh. He has traveled and painted in Mexico, the United States, Germany, Menorca, Paris, Morocco and India. He exhibits periodically in Barcelona, Calafell and Vilanova.
