Juan Humaran's hyperrealism is endowed with an intense plastic expression. With a degree in Fine Arts, Juan Humaran enjoyed a scholarship in Pennsylvania, USA, where he completed a master's degree. After a period in the U.S. city, he returned to Spain, where he settled in Laukiz, Basque Country, in 1975. There, together with other American, Mexican and Basque artists, he started the Errementariñe farmhouse workshop school, where they wove gobelin tapestries, among other activities. Later he dedicated himself to portraits and bullfighting.
