Alain Josseau graduated from the School of Fine Arts of Nantes in 1992. His paintings, drawings, videos and installations evoke since many important historical events: the attack on the World Trade Center, the Kennedy assassination, the Iraq war, etc. Since the early 2000s, Alain Josseau, inspired by cinema (Hitchcock, Antonioni, Lars von Trier or Ridley Scott) or by videos of real and current events, questions the images, their realities, their genesis, their diffusion and their reception. From this artist passionate about the assassination of John F. Kennedy, "nodal point in the history of the image", who reproduced the moon landing during a performance, the theme has taken up a large part of his artistic production.
His works have been exhibited in numerous museums and public collections including; Fond National d'Art Contemporain, Paris; Marta Herford Museum, Germany; Les abattoirs, Toulouse; Cité des Science et de l'Industrie, La Villette; Frac Auvergne; Métro de Toulouse; Centre d'Art Contemporain, Meymac; Fondation EDF; Fondation Boghossian; Fondation Francès, Senlis; Photology, Milan.
