Landscape painter and scenographer, Domingo Soler begins his formation in the Academy of Fine Arts of his native city, to continue his studies in Barcelona, in the School of La Lonja. He was granted a scholarship by the Diputación in Paris between 1892 and 1893, where he worked with the set designer Corpesar. Finally he completed his artistic training in Rome. He worked as a teacher at the Italian School of Barcelona and, later, at the School of Arts and Crafts. He was also president of the Agrupación de Acuarelistas de Cataluña. He participated in several group exhibitions, and between 1913 and 1922 he organized annual solo exhibitions at the Sala Parés in Barcelona. He competed in various artistic competitions, being awarded the Drawing Prize of the "Barcelona Cómica", the Barcelona Antigua Prize, the Medal of the Exhibition of Art and Decorative Industries of Mexico and the Gold Medal of Catalan Landscapes. A follower of Vila i Cinca, his portraits of the Catalan landscape enjoyed great success with critics and the public, although he also stood out for his scenes set in the 18th century. He is represented in the Museum of Sabadell and in the Museum of Watercolors in Llançà.
