One of the last painters of the so-called School of Paris and an outstanding illustrator, Serna Ramos studied at the San Carlos School of Fine Arts in Valencia, where his teachers included Genaro Lahuerta, Octavio Vicent and Tusset, among others. In 1956 he moved to Paris, where he began his pictorial career and furthered his training at the School of Fine Arts in the French capital, in the company of the painter Henri Goetz. In his studio he developed definitive plastic concepts, on which he has been basing his own artistic language. Between 1960 and 1975 Serna Ramos exhibited regularly at the Salons d'Hiver and des Antiquaires in Paris, and at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts. In 1964 he also took part in the Biennale in Paris. He is represented in the most important collections in the world, such as the Rothschild, the Waterman, the Offenstadt, the Hellman (all in the United States), and in others in Germany, Scotland, Belgium, Holland and Italy, and in the D'Ovar Museum in Portugal.
