Agustín Español Viñas began to paint in 1945, and three years later he entered the School of Fine Arts of Sant Jordi in Barcelona. He made his individual debut in 1955 in Barcelona, and in New York the following year. He won the prize of the First Salon of the Layetanas Galleries in 1957. He studied in Paris between 1958 and 1960, with a scholarship from the Círculo Maillol, and exhibited there in 1961. He has exhibited in Lausanne, Milan, Brescia, Parma, Palma de Mallorca and, with the Gifré i Escoda Gallery, in Barcelona and Madrid. He is represented in the Museums of Contemporary Art in Madrid and Barcelona and in the Estrada Saladich in Esplugues de Llobregat, among many others.
