Francisco Sebastián Rodríguez, was one of the most interesting Valencian landscape painters of the last century, with a very personal and stylized painting, of great sobriety, he belonged to that great generation headed by Genaro Lahuerta, with whom he maintained an intense relationship, and formed by names as significant as Francisco Lozano, Joan Baptista Porcar or Pedro de Valencia. A fellow student of Mompó, Sempere, Jacinta and Manolo Gil, he dedicated his work to landscape, which he deconstructed until he found its true essence. He belonged to that generation of creators who grew up during the post-war period and who created for the pleasure of creating, beyond any other crematistic or material ambitions, and who also transmitted their teachings. A school similar to that of Michavila or Genaro Lahuerta, whom he admitted admiring, who never wanted to leave their land and were obsessed with reflecting beauty in their own way.
