Rafael Carreras began his artistic formation in a self-taught way, during the forties. Settled in Madrid with his family, he came into contact with the art world through the Círculo de Bellas Artes, where he started working as a bellboy. During these years he began his career working as a painter of cinema billboards, a task to which he dedicated himself for most of his life. At the same time, he cultivated his easel painting, which he exhibited in several exhibitions.
