Painter born in Granada and active during the last years of the XIX century and the first years of the XX century, Emilio Álvarez Moya specialized in the orientalist thematic and of landscape, capturing with preference views of costumbrista type, protagonized by personages dedicated to their daily chores, buildings of the time, etc. He often signed his work as "Ayom", inverting the order of the letters of his second surname. The author used this pseudonym preferably in his non-orientalist works. He is currently represented in various private collections.
