DESCRIPTION
JOAN COLOM I AGUSTÍ (Arenys de Mar, Barcelona, 1879 - 1964).

Signed in the lower margin.
With label of the Parés room on the back.
Measurements: 60 x 68 cm; 88 x 97 cm (frame).
Painter of mainly self-taught formation, he studied next to Martí Alsina and in 1909 he settled in Paris. From that date on he collaborated with various Catalan newspapers, and in 1910 he was a founding member of the group Les Arts i els Artistes. He exhibited both in Spain and abroad, obtaining great success in Venice, Pittsburg, London and Paris. He was a member of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of Sant Jordi in Barcelona, and is represented in the MACBA, the Reina Sofia in Madrid and the Abbey of Montserrat.
